Prohibited Items

Listing a prohibited item will result in immediate removal and may result in permanent account suspension. If you're unsure whether an item is allowed, contact us before listing.
Stolen or misappropriated gear
You may not list any item that was stolen, obtained through fraud, or that you do not own. SwapStage cooperates fully with law enforcement on stolen gear recovery. If you suspect a listing involves stolen gear, use the Flag button to report it immediately.
Counterfeit and replica instruments
Counterfeit instruments — replicas designed to pass as name-brand originals — are prohibited. This includes fake Gibsons, Fenders, Martins, and other well-known brands. Honest "inspired by" instruments from legitimate manufacturers are allowed, but must be listed accurately without implying they are the original brand.
Items not related to music gear
SwapStage is a marketplace for musical instruments, amplifiers, effects, and music production equipment. Non-music items are not permitted. This includes general electronics, clothing, vehicles, real estate, or any other category of goods.
Gear you don't have in hand
You may only list gear that you physically possess and can ship immediately upon sale. Listings for gear you intend to acquire, gear held by a third party, or "pre-order" arrangements are prohibited. Drop-shipping is not allowed.
Heavily modified or unsafe gear
Amplifiers or other electrical equipment that has been modified in a way that presents a safety hazard — exposed wiring, bypassed safety components, missing grounding — may not be listed without full and explicit disclosure. SwapStage reserves the right to remove listings for unsafe gear.
Digital goods and software
Software licenses, sample packs, plugins, and other digital goods are not permitted. SwapStage is for physical gear only.
Weapons
No weapons of any kind, including items that could be used as weapons regardless of their musical appearance.
Anything illegal
Any item whose sale is prohibited under applicable federal, state, or local law may not be listed on SwapStage.
Reporting a prohibited listing
Use the Flag button on any listing or contact support@swapstage.com to report suspected policy violations. We review all reports.
